It will alleviate the sewage overflow problem of the septic tank system, subsequently the value of the building and land would be increased. By upgrading the capacity of sewerage system, not only to get prepared for the long-term development in the Sai Kung District but also would improve the water quality in rivers in the vicinity.

In addition, the Wo Mei Sewage Treatment Plant adopted a new sealed design. During the operation of the sewage treatment plant, no stink smell will be generated and affected the surrounding residents and pedestrians. Landscape beautification design enhances the local scenery by widely adopting greening elements which also vitalizes the area. Energy saving is also one of the highlights of the project. Solar panels will be installed to the landscaped roof to reduce lighting consumption, save operating costs, reduce carbon emissions, so as to protect the environment.
